I have the opportunity of purchasing agricultural land alongside our existing 1.5hectares. Does anyone know what the minimum hectares you need to have to be able to register as a farmer? Or where to find this info?

Hi

In all my years on the Forum this is the first time i have seen this type of question. I would say go to your local Camara as the first place to ask.

Find and go to your local Ministry of Agriculture. Once there find the Parcelar office, this is where you register your land, then; in the same building, find the IFAP [Instituto de Finanancimento da Agricultura] office. Once registered with IFAP you will be able to claim CAP grants!

Thanks....no grants required...just enough land to be accepted as a farm.
