Can anyone recommend a good website or book for identifying Portuguese plants (and trees if possible).

I'm looking for something that has good keying (eg find a plant by leaf shape, flowering time, etc) and covers wild plants ('weeds') not garden plants.

Something similar to Keble-Martin's UK plants would be best.

Hi,

Take a look at https://flora-on.pt/

Details of over 2000 species, including geographic distribution, flowering time, climatic preferences etc., together with an identification key (you chose the characteristics you can readily identify and it successively reduces the range of plants that match them).

Thanks Joe K. For maximum effect you could have used https://lmgtfy.com/ and sent me the link generated :-)
I was more looking for something people have used and would recommend.

SteveJ: Looks like the thing I need. Thank you

Here in Tábua we have a (mainly expat) gardening club called Beira Grass Roots or BGR. We are on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/beiragrassroots/
One of our leading members was taught plant ID at college, - so try putting individual queries on our Facebook. Photos showing as many as possible of of the identifying features would help.
As Steve says, https://flora-on.pt/ is a good resource.
There are many other Internet resources, which are bound to expand in the next few years. E.g. http://aurelievaltat.eu/10-great-free-p ... and-sites/

I've just come across this: https://jb.utad.pt/

It again has all sorts of details and images for each plant, and it has a dichotomous key for identification.

"If that's the case, I wont bother any more to help !!!!!!"

I was only joking :-) The first thing I did was google for the info but couldn't find what I needed. I was asking for what people use/recommend as opposed to what google served up.

Alan: thanks for that but it's a few fields worth of weeds. I'm guessing at least a hundred species (too many to photo and upload). Just trying to pick one or two a week and look them up. If I get stuck on some I'll try your suggestion though,
Thanks
