A few weeks ago I received my first state pension payment and along with it a letter from HMRC advising me of my changed tax code in the UK. I know I need to complete the Dual Taxation form, which I have done but but my local Finanças office said they cannot stamp it as approved as I need to obtain a certificate using the AT website. I have now requested the relevant certificate online but don't know what happens next. It says the status is "pendente" but I have no idea how long it remains like this. Do they send a certificate to me by post or will one become available to print from their site? I have been in Portugal almost 10 years and have completed my annual IRS paperwork diligently without any problems. Anyone here had to do the same thing recently? Thanks in advance

I recently acquired; last week, my IDT. I was able to pick up relevant certificate from my local Financas, completed it and sent it and the IDT forms to Lisbon. They returned the IDT forms; within a week, stamped, signed and embossed. I forwarded them to HMR&C, job done. You local Financas cannot stamp the IDT forms, they must go to Lisbon.

Thanks for the feedback, my only problem seems to be that the local Finanças say they cannot issue the required certificate. I shall print off the online submission and send the IDT with it to Lisbon offices and see what happens. The worst scenario is that they send the paperwork back to me and hopefully provide a bit more info on what to do differently.
