Having used Azimo to transfer funds to Portugal for more than five years they have said they can’t now and won’t tell me why. Anybody else experienced similar problems? Can you recommend easy, fast fx transfer company from UK to a Pt bank? Thanks in anticipation.

Hi

Used Transferwise and i now use Revolut it's an app on Ipad or Iphone. It pays Interbank rate, today when the rate was 1.1279€ that was the rate i got. If i had waited till later in the afternoon i would have got 1.1320€ for a £1.00. Just go to the Multibank and draw cash when needed. Worth looking at.

Try this site. It compares deals offered by all the major fund transfer companies and highlights the best deal at any given time. Note that some don't charge a fee but Transferwise do. You have to balance that against the rate offered obviously.

I use either Moneycorp or HIFX
have done for 13 years with no issues
(other than government continually requiring refreshed ID because WE are all money laundering)

hit the small insignificant guys with mass extra work while the 'big guys' carry on as ever!!

both will offer to beat the best rate...its up to you how many times you call each

nb you would of course have to set up an account before a deal

Another Transferwise fan here...
They have some good features beyond just FX, Mastercard debt cards coming soon, and a handy 'Borderless Account' which is great...

Thank you all. I have used HiFX in the past - no problem. Signed up with Transferwise having seen lots of good reviews: very quick and easy. But will look at the others too, esp Revolut. Very disappointed with Azimo - little communication following my complaint.
