Hello we moved to the tomar area in August this year, does anyone have an idea of an average build cost per sq m. Where to go for kitchen and lighting ideas.
Finally what is the cost of a bore hole please?

Many thanks for the info on the solar panels in a previous post very helpful.

Hi Rowena and Rodu

I can only say from my travels that for lighting it's got to be Leyroy Merlin but that's only from walking through there store. I myself have Led ceiling lights and also around the ceiling and that works fine for me and only a total of 22watts.
Kitchens again from Leyroy or find a local Carpenter who would make them for you. Granite here is so cheap i had in piece 2m long for 195€ and 2.5m for 200€ including cutting for the sink and hob.

As for builders ask the local Brits in the bars near to you or go to the local builders merchant and ask for a recommendation. Try Google Tradatur it's a Portuguese translater not in Brazilian.

Peter

building costs would depend on how you go about it. average cost would be about 500e per square meter and upward. if you self build then this could be reduced. a borehole would be around 30e per square meter plus vat and the cost of the pumping gear to raise the water and pressurise it to the tap.

Hi

We had a borehole drilled in September (just in time for the fires, saved our plot with it!)

It costs 30 euros per meter drilled, so it all depends how far you need to drill down, bearing in mind the changes in climate we went double the depth after hitting water, in total 78m. With the pump and a pressurised water tank, paperwork etc, it cost about 4,000 euros. You need to register it and get a licence. The borehole driller should sort all that out for you.

We have a guide quote of 125,000 euros to build a 110m sq meter house, 2 floors (so 220 sq m). 2/3 beds, 2 bathrooms medium/high spec. So certainly could be cheaper depending on what you want.

Good luck with everything
