Yesterday Lidl, Tomar had a stack of these hearing aids. 11 euros!

Bought one and will see how I get on. Don't expect too much for the price, but if it helps with watching progs. on the I-pad (which I was straining to hear) it will be worth it. Even if it gets me used to wearing one of the dreaded contraptions so I can buy a dearer one with confidence, it will have been a help.

Late to reply, but if you find you need something more than a very basic hearing aid you can buy used ones of a good make on eBay. You do need to get them adjusted by a profesional for your hearing loss and this generally needs to be done on a regular basis (every 6 months or so). So you need to find an audiologist near you who will do this. Widex are a good make and have centres all over Portugal.
