 Post subject: withholding phone number

Anybody know how to withhold your own phone number when calling somebody please?

I suspect a lot depends on what phone system/service you are using (with BT in the UK I think you put 141 before the number you were dialling, but I doubt if that's the same here).

I tried to find this out for a Vodafone land-line service here, and their help system pointed me to the Vodafone App on a smartphone, which wasn't really relevant to my question. But, if you are using a mobile, might be worth looking somewhere in the App for whatever service you have.

Yes I was hoping to find something like the 141 system. i want to call some estate agents but wish to withhold my number so they do not keep bothering me later.

As i don't use a landline for calls i can't help but on my Iphones i can just set the phones to not how caller id.

What phone are you using?

found the way
put #31# then dial the number the receiving phone will show withheld or unknown caller.
strangely this works when I call from my mobile, but landline will not let me put the code, i just get a message saying about it not being a valid number.
