Hi

We are moving to the Algarve at the back end of the summer. We would like to know the best company to use for internet/mobile phones? I am led to believe that men offer an internet service that includes 2 mobile phones and free international landline calls between 2100-0900. Unfortunately their website is in Portuguese. Can anyone verify this with costs and/or are there better deals/companies out there?

Many thanks

Martin

Best option is always an internet search because deals change weekly. Best provider is the one that gives highest signal strength at location you plan to connect from most.

In terms of cost there is little between them but beware of the contract clause that means you can't cancel for two years - you have two weeks cooling off period on a new connection, after that you are committed !

Covered lots of times in this and various forums. Use Google translate on ANY website that does not have an English option

BIG WARNING!

Availability of services by the different providers in the Algarve depends on where EXACTLY you are going to be living as coverage varies!

So which area will you exactly be in?

I suspect then you will be limited to the option of MEO or NOS(landline over mobile phone network.)

If you are away from the village & landlne cables are overhead be prepared for patchy winter winter service. I had 2 clients in rural areas this past winter who were without phone/Internet over Meo landline for +-4 weeks.

Depending on your distance from the DSLAM ADSL box don't expect Internet speeds as advertised or promised!

As regards the NOS option you would need to do a check to ensure that there is a strong 4G NOS signal in your abode before proceeding down that route!
