hELLO ALL.

Just wondering if readers might have suggestions / recommendations for RightByTheSea locations for house / flat purchase or medium term rental ?

When I say 'RightByTheSea' I do mean as close as possible : with at minimum a clear uninterrupted view of the sea, and not a distant view either. Ability to even hear the waves crash, at least in the evenings, would be a huge plus point.

Nowhere is that far from one of Lisbon or Porto, for when one needs a city 'fix' so am basically open to suggestions for anywhere in the country.
That said, a historic / beautiful town v nearby would be a plus.

I don't think any of the West of Faro Algarve locations would suit me. I am thinking more some small fishing village or not long since it was a fishing village.

Ideally ( I realize you can't always attain the ideal ) an easy walk / 5 minute cycle ride to a safe place for a ( virtual ) non swimmer to paddle / float in the salty waters................Bliss !

Suggestions ?? All welcome. Any top secret recommendations pl. send direct message ( these lips are sealed ! lol )

Thanks.
But could you be more specific as to the beach's attractions ?

Is it rough / sheltered ? Easy to park ?

And why is the drive hair raising ? ( More so than any roads in Portugal ?? )

sea is the Atlantic so is ROUGH..great surfer place Obidos lagoon gets to the sea here and lagoon is VERY calm and safe
other side is Foz do Arelho...equal sea/lagoon and a bit nearer the 'city' (Caldas de Rainha)

parking easy as place VERY quiet...sometimes in summer is crowded (all is relative) at weekends

walk on beach to Praia de Rei is 3 miles......usually do NOT see anyone!

road has many bends...portugese drivers seem to want both sides available for their use
