Hi

The mistakes i made where to bring almost everything but i left so much behind. I had a big Transit van and big box trailer. The mistake i made was to bring just about everything instead of being careful with how i packed my van. Start with everything that you will use, then things you may use and lastly things you don't use often If there is stuff you have to leave behind make sure it's not important stuff. I still bring stuff over every time i drive back to see family.

Peter

I went the DIY route like Peter, albeit I hired a self-drive lorry with tail-lift. If memory serves the hire cost was £700 (2009) then obviously fuel and toll costs had to be factored in (I can't remember what they added up to).
