Hi Lobito,
We have the adegas with dirt floors and then these wooden floors which make up the ceilings of the adegas. The house is all on one level with an atic space above.
I am glad you have told me this as we do not want to just do things and hope they are not noticed.
OH is going down on Monday with a list of things to ask and we have now added the floors to the list.
Many thanks for the info hopefully it will save us grief later.

It certainly was wierd.

The law has still not been passed so they are unable to charge for the SCUT's.

Parliament has shut down for about one month so the earliest something may happen will be September or October or November.

does this not apply everywhere? any region of any country in the world will have variation in food prices.

Our objective is to buy a 3 bed apartment in a condo with a pool. We would spent most of the year there, the balance in the UK, to keep up with work and family. For convenience and security that is why we have discounted a house, although we love outside space.

surely if you are spending most of the year in PT then buying a house (if that is your preferred way of living) would make more sense and just buy a 3 bed flat in UK?

don't expect anything to sell quickly unless you are giving it away and if you really want to haggle then find a seller who is a Brit returning home

These 'blood' recipes sound a bit dire...and I confess to never having tried them...stupid, of course...but I'm completely put off just seeing what comes on to folks' plates who have ordered them...usually a mushy gruel.
I will doubtless draw flack by thinking that the Portuguese aren't very good with rice...it is mostly ridiculously overcooked (as is, unfortunately, much else,)...but if they like it that way what do I know?
Ingredients here are the freshest & the best; no argument...it's what happens in the kitchen which is the problem.
In England I loved 'Jugged Hare'...but it was never served up as porridge

I have been registered with the Portuguese Health System for the past 9 years without any problems.Just went along and registered no questions asked. I have just turned 65 and have received an S1 for UK which I have handed in to the Social Security.
During the past 2 years I have a major operation, and the only costs for my Hospital stay where for the food.

Hi, just wondering if there are any vegetarians living in Portugal that have any good recipes to share. I eat no meat or fish, but do eat cheese and eggs and have been this way for around 32 years...
