Thanks Nick, I will give both the restaurant and the garden centre a try soon. I want to plant my own veggies and I am sure the boyfriend will enjoy being taken out as I am usually to tired after work and feeding all the animals to feed him also.

Thanks Becky, that�s what most people seem to do. My friend in Golega also brought her things with her. I wasn�t lucky enough to own a horse in the UK. But I am sure I will get her sorted out sooner or later, for the time being I just have to put loads and loads of shavings...

Reading these posts has made me cry... I am so glad people like Jill exist!!! And people who notice the poor state of the animal and care enough to do something about it. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!! I am a first time horse owner and completly in love with my mare, I cannot wait to bring her home this weekend as I do not like the way she is kept and cared for at the barn where I had her. But of course she is 100 times better off than the horses that are being tied to trees without food or water.

My friend in Golega is also watching a horse who she thinks has lamenitis and should get treatment. Do we know if there is an animal rescue society in her area?

We were in the same boat last year with kids, animals and business to sort, which is still a headache! the experience has been up and down, but forgive me if this sounds rude, but if it's just the 2 of you to consider you will have fewer hassles and things should be relatively smooth. Besides, there are so many helpful people out here
